Soul Healing: Tea Time

In the lineage of women of color tea time has always been the best time for soul work. It has been the opportunity to reveal and heal those things which have brought an array of feelings from the happiest of times to the saddest. The heritage of the mistreatment of women of color in a male-dominated society made teatime a safe space. This has been and continues to be what bonds women of color. As our lives and the roles of women in society have expanded, so has tea time. Brown Butterfly Tea will continue providing quality tea for women of color to drink and share. Additionally, there are now options that our ancestors did not have to address the work of healing our souls. You are safe and empowered to seek all that will help you.

Therapist or Life Coach?

Therapist.

Therapists diagnose. Therapists analyze a client’s past. Therapy is usually a long-term process. Therapists can be licensed physicians who determine illnesses and pathologies. Life Coaches do not diagnose.

Life Coach.

Life Coaches analyze a client’s current goals. Life Coaching may be ongoing but is usually a short-term process. Life Coaches help clarify current obstacles to success and help to make an action plan. A personal Life Coach can help you pinpoint some life issues that cause blocks and enhance your current skills to achieve goals.

If however, you find that your problems persistently interfere with important areas of your life. you must ask yourself the following questions and if you answer “yes” to any of them, consider talking to your mental health care provider before seeking out a personal Life Coach.

•Am I having difficulty interacting with friends, classmates, or strangers?

•Has my behavior damaged my relationships with friends or family members?

•Have I been avoiding people or important situations frequently because I have been feeling anxious?

•Has my drinking or drug use interfered with my relationships, my academic performance, or my other responsibilities?
